Eight principles for heat treatment
1. Five organizations: namely austenitic, cementite, martensite, bainite, pearlite. Deep understanding of the characteristics of thefive organizations, organization form, precipitation (formed) conditions, performance etc. heat treatment can level can be improved.
2. Six defects: oxidation and decarburization, overheating, burnt, deformation, cracking. the most taboo are burnt and
cracking in the work, because the two defects is irreparable. We should also try to avoid the other four, although they
can be made up for, but obviously will increase the workload and the cost of production. Making heat treatment to avoid
or mitigate the six major defects is a qualified engineer for heat treatment.
3. Seven phase transition: pearlite to austenite (P -> A), austenite to pearlite (A - P), austenite transformed into sorbite
(A ->S), austenite transforms into flexion austenite (A -> T), austenite into martensite (A ->M), austenite to bainite (A ->B),
martensitic to tempered martensite (M ->M Temp), holding the seven phases heat treatment can get a high level.
4. Eight major technology: annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, surface quenching and chemical heat treatment
process, vacuum heat treatment process, special heat treatment process (laser, ion nitriding, PCD, CVD, ion plating, etc.).
Grasping the eight processes can be a heat treatment expert.
